How many teaspoons are there in the Land of Havilah Parasite Formula?

There are approximately 5 (maybe 5 1/2) cups of Parasite Formula in each 16 oz size bag. I’ve never counted/measured how many teaspoons, but according to Google that is approximately 264 teaspoons.  Remember, that won’t be specific to our Parasite Formula, but it gives you a general idea.

What how much do I give my animal?

If your animal is close to the top of the range, please increase the dose to the next level up. It is better to give too much than too little, so when in doubt give extra.

How do I feed it to my animals?

Our free online class that is included with your purchase covers these options (plus others) in more detail. Here are the Cliff Notes:

Administration options:

  • Top Dressed. Mix the herb powder with their feed ration.  See free class for details.
  • Herb balls. Make the herb powder into herb/dosage balls and feed it directly to each animal.  See free class for details.
  • Drenched. Mix the herb powder with water and administer orally via drench syringe.  See free class for details.
  • Tea Method. Create a tea and put it out in their water tank. See free class for details.

How often should I use this mix for my goats?

Dosage Frequency. This is more difficult to answer, because it is going to depend on the situation that you are using it for. Our free online class that is included in your purchase covers this in much greater detail, but here are the Cliff Notes:

  • To begin: AM and PM, 3 days in a row, then go to Maintenance or the frequency appropriate for your specific situation. See free class for details.
  • Maintenance: Used year round. A weekly dose to break the parasite life cycle. See free class for details.
  • Young Stock Maintenance. Young stock require more frequent dosing due to their immature immune system. See free class for details.
  • Chronic issues: 2-3x/day for 6 days in a row, then reevaluate. See free class for details.
  • Acute issues: Double dose. 4x/day for 6 days in a row, then reevaluate. See free class for details.

Do you have a lab that you recommend for fecal testing?

I really like MeadowMist Lab Service (no affiliation). They provide easy to read test results – providing eggs per gram (EPG) count of each parasite found in the sample, and they are very affordable. NOTE: They only provide fecal testing for GOATS and other small ruminants.
