Psych earned her name after her momma gave birth to her brother the night before and cleared her afterbirth. I was so bummed that I didn’t get a doe, but I was happy to be able to fill a buck reservation. The next morning, I heard someone pushing and I ran around trying to find a doe in labor. I finally realized that it was Veritas! I went in and discovered a small dead doeling. I pulled her and went back in to make sure there weren’t more kids. When I felt Pysch in there, I thought I was pulling another dead kid, but she was alive! She is so lovely! She freshen as a yearling and gave me a “mini me” doeling of herself! She is producing really well and earned her *M in all three categories as a yearling in this first lactation!

Psych earned her *M aw a yearling in all three categories (milk, butterfat, and protein) during her 2024 lactation. She is an AR (Advanced Registry) doe and all her bucklings will have their *B designation as long as their sire is a *B or +B.

Psych’s sire is *B Two Maples Dragon’s Onyx. Onyx is a cross of two Top Ten Breed Leader lines of the Camelot Cattle Company herd. He is linebred on Elite Buck (96th percentile), +*B Tamris Farm SAP’s Onyx, who is #3 on the current (2022) ADGA PTI list at 179 in PTI 2:1 (weighted 2 to 1 production over type) in the Nubian breed.

Veri stands out when you walk into the barn. She is absolutely stunning and her dark bay coloring is different from everyone else. Her sire certainly stamped her as his! She is growing fast and we bred her to kid as a yearling to avoid her getting over conditioned. Her front legs are straight when viewed from the front and the sides. Her rear leg angulation is very good. She has excellent breed character and beautiful, long, bell-shaped ears.
In 2022, Veritas scored Good Plus in Head, Front Legs, Rear Legs, Feet, Rump, General Appearance, Dairy Strength, and Mammary. That is a really good score for such a young doe and I’m really excited to watch her mature. Her final score was 01-04 83 ++G+. LA: September 20, 2022.
In 2023, Veritas scored Excellent in Mammary. Very Good in Head, Front Legs, Rear Legs, Back, Rump, General Appearance, Dairy Strength, and Body Capacity. Her final score was 02-01 VG88 VVVE. LA: June 13, 2023. (DL)
In 2024, Veritas scored Excellent in Body Capacity. Very Good in Head, Shoulder Assembly, Front Legs, Feet, Back, Rump, Dairy Strength, Body Capacity, and Mammary.
Veri is on the Elite Doe list released in August of 2022! She is in the 97th percentile in the nation for her breed!
Veri earned her *M in butterfat and protein on our October 25, 2022 milk test, and she is close to earning it in milk weight as well. She is a 2*M (as soon as ADGA has the ability to add it).
