Promise is a growthy doe and was bred to Onyx in late October 2022. That was an oopsie on my part, so she will be a little under a year old when she kids if she caught on this breeding. I mis-remembered her birthdate and thought she was going on 8 months old instead of 7 months old. She is a big girl and I will support her with herbs to help her prepare for kidding in March 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is lovely and has stellar bloodlines behind her. She is an Ecstatic granddaughter and has BlissBerry lines on her sire\u2019s side. I\u2019m excited to see her freshen in 2023!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destiny\u2019s momma is Land of Havilah Only Imagine 4*M<\/a>. Only Imagine<\/em> is named after the song by MercyMe<\/a>. She is affectionately known as \u201cHershey\u201d in the herd, as she was born in our candy bar theme year for barn names and Hershey stuck. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hershey is out of an excellent cross of our lines with the AI sire we used in 2016 (Kaitai). Hershey is wide bodied and holds her weight and lactation very well without a large amount of grain. Her legs have correct balance and are straight both from the front and the side view. Her udder is socked on tight, but I\u2019d like to see larger teats \u2013 I\u2019m hoping that they will continue to increase in size with her second freshening. We dam raise, so the teats don\u2019t get much chance to stretch out until we start separating kids at night \u2013 we didn\u2019t do that much last year and I\u2019ll need to do that sooner in her lactation this year to facilitate that. She is sweet natured and patient, which has made her a favorite with our family. She is also an excellent momma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, Hershey scored Very Good in Front Legs, Rear Legs, Rump, Dairy Strength, and Body (capacity). Her final score was 82 +VV+. LA: September 20, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
